Class 2

Welcome back Class 2!

Class 2 Team:
Miss Chamberlin (Teacher)
Mrs Evans (Teacher Friday Morning)
Mrs Tobin (Teaching Assistant)

Spelling
Tests will take place every Friday. Spelling lists for the following week will be sent home Friday. This will begin on 13th September for Y2.

P.E
Please ensure named PE kits are in school during the week. PE lessons take place on a Monday and a Tuesday.

Homework
Spelling tests are the homework in Class 2. We also encourage you to read with your children as much as possible.

Reading
Please continue to read as regularly as possible with your child, they gain so much from it. Remember to spend just as much time talking about texts as you do word reading. There are some PDFs at the bottom of the page to guide you in this. Please also support your child to learn to read and spell the Common Exception Words they may bring home in their book bags.

Remember - reading is not just about your child's ability to blend and segment words...ask the questions to too. Use the question guides in your child's yellow homework pack as a guide.
Maths and Science

Remember - maths is ALL around us. Teaching your children to tell the time is essential this year. Year 1s need to know o'clock and half past as a minimum. Recognising money is equally as important. Encourage them to count, add and subtract in 2s, 5s and 10s. Or explore different ways to make 20p, 50p, £1. Teach them the difference between pounds and pence. When you're cooking dinner - measure out how much you're using and involve your children with it.
